The Paper Age sources original vintage paper from books and magazines in the United States for junk journals, scrapbooks, collage and zines.

Our selection includes advertisements, illustrations, text pages and paper clippings for use as focal images, backgrounds or details in your work.

Our Paper

Our packs focus on paper dating from approximately 1950 to 1990. Each listing describes the theme, quantity, dimensions, period and condition, so you know what to expect before ordering.

Our Founder

Ronin Naodhinsuk Founder of The Paper Age · Founder and Curator of The Record Institute

Ronin is a Thai independent curator of vintage printed material and the creator of The Record Institute (TRI), a digital museum and archive of pre-2000 print media based in Seattle, Washington.

His work at TRI includes selecting and photographing original material, researching its sources, brands and creators, and examining typography, printing techniques and paper. These records and accompanying articles place each piece in its historical context. The archive publishes in seven languages and is free to explore.

Ronin is a member of the Museum Computer Network (MCN), a professional network for digital practice in museums. TRI is a member of the Washington Museum Association (WaMA).

TRI’s website has received Special Kudos and awards for UI, UX and Innovation from CSS Design Awards, Site of the Day from CSS Nectar, and a Star award from CSS Winner.

At The Paper Age, Ronin applies that knowledge of period, imagery, typography and paper to selecting materials for papercraft, alongside individual prints for collecting and framing.

Original Paper and Condition

All materials come from original period publications, rather than digital files or modern reproductions. Yellowing, folds and worn edges may be present, depending on age and storage. We describe relevant condition details so you can decide whether the paper suits your project.

Vintage Advertisements

Alongside our craft packs, we select vintage advertisements and printed pages for collecting or framing in homes, shops and studios.

Sourcing and Storage

Paper is sourced in the United States, sorted and stored at our warehouse in Seattle, Washington, then sent to Thailand in consolidated shipments.

How We Work

The Paper Age is an independent business. We base our listings on the physical paper we select and examine. If you are looking for a particular image, theme, color palette, period or type of paper, contact us to discuss what is available.
